Lori Radler-Horowitz is an accomplished, multi-faceted artist, with the emphasis of her work in sculpture and set design.
Born in 1960, a native Long Islander, Ms. Horowitz received a BFA in Fine Arts from S.U.N.Y Purchase in 1981. She has worked over the past 20 years as a scenic designer and artist for numerous companies, theaters, institutions and galleries. She has sculpted and designed for Comedy Central, Marvel Comics, and the Smithsonian Institute. She has designed sets for music videos, television commercials and feature films including “Radio Days” and “Barton Fink”. While abroad, she worked producing multi-media shows, designed for the Scottish Dance Theatre and worked as a Scenic Artist for the Scottish Opera.
As a Professor of Theater Arts for Five Towns College, Ms. Horowitz has been involved with teaching and designing theatrical productions. She has been commissioned by the Half Hollow Hills Schools to design for their theatrical productions as well as educate students while creating a sculpture through an arts in education residency program.. She is an active member of (L.I.P.S.S.) Long Island Professional Sculptors and Supporters, encouraging the display of public art throughout Long Island. Ms. Horowitz is currently applying her skills and has created a new series of figuratively based images that incorporate drawings and sculptures as a commentary on living and aging. Through her expertise with a variety of media and sensitivity to subject matter, Ms. Horowitz expands the limitations of materials in sculpture.
